Yomiuri Giants: Day Off

...Alex Ramirez dropped by Miyazaki Gakuen High School to watch the kendo team practice.  He event suited up and participated in a match.

...Michihiro Ogaswara hosted an afternoon BBQ party out on the lawn near the player's hotel on Wednesday.  Ogasawara invited players, members of the coaching staff, and other support staff.

...Despite it being a day off, Ikusei coach Akira Eto held early morning batting practice on Wednesday (he did the same thing during the first day on the 5th as well).  His practice started at 7:30am and lasted about an hour.  Ikusei players Atsushi Fukumoto and Kazunao Yamamoto attended.

...Masafumi Togano and Atsushi Yachida worked out on their day off Wednesday.

...Tatsunori Hara is planning on using Tetsuya Yamaguchi for about 2 innings during an intra-squad game either on the 14th or 17th.  During BP on Tuesday, he temporarily turned away from the curve he's trying to pick up and decided to work on brushing up his slider and change.

...Hara said that Masumi Hoshino reminded him of when Yamaguchi first joined the Giants.  Hoshino threw his cutter, change, and curve during his bullpen session at Group A camp on Tuesday.

...Hayato Sakamoto took 13 swings against Yasunari Takagi during BP on Tuesday and recorded 4 could-be hits.

...Shugo Fujii faced Tomoya Ichikawa and Taishi Ohta during BP on Tuesday.  Ichikawa took 20 swings and recorded 6 could-be hits, including one that went over the fence.  Ohta took 17 swings and picked up 4 could-be hits.

Ichikawa is one of three rookies at Group A camp this year.  The other two are Hisayoshi Chono and Kyohei Tsuchimoto.
