Hiroshima Carp: Imamura feels some tightness in his right shoulder

by on Feb.11, 2010 @ 6:27 pm, under NPB, Spring Camp

...Takeru Imamura was in the middle of a bullpen session on Wednesday when he stopped and complained of tightness in his right shoulder.  He was about 20 pitches into the session.  The Carp don't appear to be too concerned, citing fatigue as a possible cause.

...Katsuhiro Nagakawa threw 36 pitches (including about 10 cutters) during BP on Wednesday.  Nagakawa is working on adding a cutter to his repertoire after he was burned by a couple of left-handed bats last year -- like Hanshin Tigers Tomoaki Kanemoto, Yomiuri Giant Yoshiyuki Kamei, and Chunichi Dragons Masahiko Morino).  Nagakawa's new cutter apparently has a slight break around the plate, making it difficult for batters to make solid contact with the ball.
