...Daisuke Miura held a bullpen session on Thursday and threw 130 pitches.  Miura is currently working on making sure he uses his lower body properly and releasing the ball out in front.

...Hayato Terahara threw 49 pitches during a bullpen session on Thursday.  It was his first bullpen since the first session.  He told reporters he felt good and that he should be able to pitch BP sometime during the third session.

...Takao Obana had the team work on situational hitting on Thursday, like hitting grounders to the right side with a runner on first, or with runners on first and third, giving the runner at third a chance to score by having the runner at first go hard into second.

...During pre-practice shouting drills on Thursday, Daisuke Hayakawa shouted that he wants to take advantage of his new start with the Bay Stars and work on putting up the best numbers of his career.  Hayakawa is vying for a spot in center field.

...Takao Obana pointed to Yuya Ishii as a candidate for the closer role on Wednesday.  Ishii did have some troubles against left-handed hitters last season (they batted .375) so Obana plans on having someone stand in the left batter's box during Ishii's bullpen sessions so that he can work on throwing to the outside corners.

...As of now, Daisuke Miura and Naoyuki Shimizu are the only two pitchers with spots in the starting rotation.  Obana is apparently thinking of Stephen Randolph as either a starter or a closer.  Others that could join the rotation: Hitoshi Fujie, Shun Yamaguchi, Futoshi Kobayashi, and Yuji Yoshimi.

Chris Bootcheck is also a candidate to close.

...Hayato Terahara worked on his day off.  He's currently on a different training menu due to inflammation in his right thigh / hamstring.  After doing some weight training and playing some catch, Terahara said his leg felt much better and that he was ready to re-join the team.

...Randolph arrived in Japan on Thursday and will be joining the team on the Friday.  Randolph was originally supposed to arrive a day earlier but was allowed a delay when his wife fell sick.
