Softbank Hawks: Ogura pitches well during Friday’s simulated game

...NPB Commissioner Ryozo Kato dropped by Hawks camp on Friday.  He told reporters that he does indeed plan on talking to Sadaharu Oh about the Global World Series.

...Shota Ohba tossed a simulated game on Saturday.  He faced 13 batters and struck out 6 batters and gave up 2 hits.  Ohba also managed to spot his sliders to the outside corner against lefties.

...Kenji Ohtonari threw 45 pitches during BP on Saturday and faced Motohiro Yoshikawa and Kenta Nakanishi.  He gave up 3 could be hits on 26 swing.

...Nobuhiro Matsuda hit a double off Shingo Tatsumi during a simulated game on Thursday.

...Nobuhiko Matsunaka hit about 50 pitches (about 20 standing and 30 sitting) during soft toss BP on Friday.  He also showed up with a new bat, one similar to the type Seibu Lion Takeya Nakamura uses (has a flat barrel).

...Shinsuke Ogura threw a simulated game on Friday and topped out at 145km/h on the radar gun.  He faced 10 batters and gave up just one hit to Yuya Hasegawa.  Ogura got both Bum-Ho Lee and Jose Ortiz to chase his change-up for strike outs.

...More on Tadashi Settsu's BP outing: he threw 64 pitches, 47 of which were swung at and 12 of which ended up as could-be hits.
