Hiroshima Carp: Yutaka Ohno to give Ni-gun pitches more chances

...Notes from Sunday's intra-squad practice game:

Junpei Shinoda started for the red team and tossed 2 shut-out innings while giving up 2 hits.

Keisuke Imae started for the red team and also tossed 2 shut-out innings while giving up 2 hits.

Taketo Kawaguchi pitched 2 shutout innings in relief and gave up just 1 hit.

Jeff Huber hit a home run in the 6th.

...Hiroshima prefectural mayor Hidehiko Yuzaki dropped by Carp camp on Sunday.  He took part in pre-game warmups, did some running, and took 20 swings (while swinging and missing 16 times) in the batting cages.

...Saki mayor Yasuyoshi Nishijima visited Kenjiro Nomura at Carp camp on Sunday morning and presented the Carp with 20 yellowtail and 20 flounder (fish).  As for the connection: Nomura hails from Saki, Ohita.

...Head / pitching coach Yutaka Ohno watched all six Ni-gun pitchers throw bullpen session on Saturday.  He later told reporters that the pitchers he watched might have a shot at pitching in an upcoming intra-squad game and that a number of them might also pitch in a simulated game on the 15th.

...Kota Ito threw 71 pitches (including his curve, slider, screwball, and fork) during a bullpen session on Saturday.
