...Sunday's practice game against the Hanshin Tigers was rained out.

...Astunori Inaba took batting extra practice after general practice on Sunday.  Inaba was actually at Ni-gun camp in Kunigami because he wasn't scheduled to take part in the game against the Tigers and returned to Ichi-gun camp in Nago for extra batting practice after head coach Junichi Fukura contacted him.

...Brian Wolfe arrived in Japan on Saturday and joined the Fighters on Sunday.  He held a bullpen session on his first day.

...Buddy Carlyle met with Hanshin Tiger Minoru Iwata for about 20 minutes on Saturday before their practice game.

...Yu Darvish will be pitching in a practice game against the SK Wyverns on the 18th.  On Saturday, he threw 158 pitches during his 6th bullpen session.  After throwing his 115th pitch, Shinya Tsuruoka and Darvish pretended they are pitching against the opening day Softbank Hawks' lineup.  Pitching coach Kazuyuki Atsuzawa, who was standing in the batter's box, also played along.

...Sho Nakata apparently forgot to wear the right cleats to the game on Saturday -- he wore cleats designed for playing on turf -- and was chewed out by head coach Junichi Fukura.  OF coach Masaji Shimizu graded Nakata at 70% because of the snafu.

...Additional notes from Saturday's practice game against the Hanshin Tigers:

Nakata also struck out twice, once in the 4th and once in the 8th.

Dai-Kang Yang (Yoh) jammed his right thumb when he sled head first into third.

Masayoshi Kato recorded his first hit during his third trip to the plate: an RBI double.  He also made a throwing error in the 5th while trying to turn a double play.
