Rakuten Eagles: Day Off / Masahiro Tanaka to pitch duing intra-squad game on 17th?

...Masahiro Tanaka threw 32 pitches (26 for strikes) during BP on Saturday.  He gave up 2 could-be hits to Tatsuya Shiokawa and 6 could-be hits (or 8 according to Sponichi) on 22 pitches to Daisuke Kusano.  Tanaka managed to keep all his pitches down (including his slider and curve) and hit most of the spots where the catcher put his glove.

Tanaka will likely have a chance to pitch during an intra-squad game on the 17th.

...Satoshi Nagai held a bullpen session on Saturday and threw 150 pitches (including his curve, slider, and shuto).  Hisashi Iwakuma threw 141 pitches during his session.

...Koji Aoyama threw 50 pitches a bullpen session on Saturday and worked on his new change (he only managed to throw it three times during in intra-squad practice game outing on the 11th).  Aoyama is set to pitch again during an intra-squad game on the 17th.

...Takeshi Yamasaki took 107 swings during lunch BP and hit 33 over the fence.

...Baby Brown headed back to Sendai on Saturday in order to attend America World Festa.  It will be the first time Baby Brown steps foot in Sendai.

...Saturday's intra-squad practice game notes:

Four catchers made appearances in the game: Akihito Fujii, Motohiro ShimaSuguru Inoand Tadashi Ishimine.  Shima threw out 2 base runners trying to steal second while Fujii, Ino, and Ishimine each threw out 1 a piece.

Naoto Watanabe had two hits, including a double.
