...Micheal Nakamura threw 34 pitches during BP on Sunday and faced Yoshiyuki Kamei and Takahiro Suzuki.  He gave up 2 could-be hits.

...Takahashi Yoshinobu is hoping that he'll be able play in an intra-squad practice game on the 20th.  After going through his workouts, Yoshinobu also spent some time standing in the batter's box during Kyohei Tsuchimoto's bullpen session.

...Notes from Sunday's intra-squad practice game:

Both Shun Tono and Tetsuya Utsumi both hurled two innings.  Utsumi started for the red team and gave up 3 runs on 3 hits; Tono started for the white team and gave up a run  on 2 hits.

Takahiko Nomaguchi pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief and surrendered 2 hits.  He topped out at 143 km/h.

Hisayoshi Chono picked up 4 hits and an RBI.  He almost hit a home run during his fourth at bat when he hit the ball off the left field wall for a double.  All four hits came on first pitch swings.

Tetsuya Matsumoto went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

...Utsumi told reporters after the game that he threw his cutter too hard, causing it to move more like a shuto thereby making it easier to hit.

...Masaichi Kaneda was at Giants' camp on Saturday and spent some of his time watching pitchers hold bullpen sessions.  He also gave Tetsuya Yamaguchi advice on how to make his conversion to a starter a success.  They included: running 10 times more than other players; build up stamina; and increase lung capacity.

...Alex Ramirez stayed back after practice for extra BP on Saturday.  He also had a chance to meet an old teammate, Atsuya Furuta (on hand to record a segment for a tv program).

...Additional notes from Saturday's Group B intra-squad practice game:

Tomoya Ichikawa (started at catcher and batted 7th) went 2-for-2.

Daisuke Nakai (started at third and batted 3rd) hit an RBI double in the first.
