...Kenji Johjima was scheduled to do some outdoor long distance throwing on Tuesday but had to cancel due to rain. He's hoping the weather will be good enough for him on Wednesday. If not, Johjima will trying throwing in the bullpen.
...Ikketsu Sho, who was supposed to start Tuesday's practice game, ended up throwing a simulated game. He faced 8 batters and surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk. After his simulated game out, Sho spent some time throwing into a net.

...The intra-squad practice game on the 23rd will likely feature big-name pitchers. Pitching coach Takashi Yamaguchi told reporters on Monday that they will give younger pitchers a chance to vie for spots on the Ichi-gun roster in games on the 20th and 21st and that the game on the 23rd will focus on getting players ready for the regular season. Shinobu Fukuhara, Atsushi Noumi, and Ando Yuya are currently scheduled to pitch on the 23rd.
...Shunsuke Fujikawa has been working on his stance with batting coaches Yutaka Wada and Atsushi Kataoka since the start of Spring camp. Fujikawa apparently arrived at his new batting stance by watching, at the advice of the two coaches, Tomoaki Kanemoto and Takahiro Arai. The new stance has Fujikawa bending his knees more to low his center of gravity.
...Kyuji Fujikawa, Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi, Casey Fossum, and Tomoyuki Kubota were originally scheduled to throw BP on Wednesday, but with rain in the forecast, their sessions were moved up to Tuesday.
...Akinobu Mayumi is currently thinking of using Kazuhito Futagami in a Central League exhibition game.
...The first four pitchers in the rotation will likely be Ando, Noumi, Minoru Iwata, and Yasutomo Kubo.
...Keiji Uezono, Ken Nishimura, Hirotaka Egusa, Kazuya Tsutsui, and Ryo Watanabe are scheduled to pitch in the practice game against the Nippon Ham Fighters on Monday. Uezono (played catch and took some grounders) and Nishimura (played catch and did some running) both apparently practiced for about an hour on their day off.
...Takashi Shimizu spent about an hour in the batting cages on his day off in preparation for his start against the Nippon Ham Fighters on Monday.

...Craig Brazell will be taking part in Sanspo's 2010 Tigers' Promise. His promise: to hit one home run against every Pacific League team during Inter-league play. If he makes good on the promise, Sanspo will give him a 50,000 yen gift certificate (which Brazell says he want to donate to charity). He also wants the reporter that got him to take the promise to run a lap around Koshien wearing slippers.
...Sanspo presented Egusa with a gift certificate worth 50,000 yen for making good on his 2009 Tigers' Promise. The promise: to break 5 or more bats during the 2009 regular season. He ended up breaking 12 bats. Sanspo also ended up apologizing to Egusa as they originally listed his promise as ending in a failure.
