Softbank Hawks: Wada throws 92 pitches in the bullpen

...Wednesday's intra-squad practice game was canceled.  The team will instead play a practice game against the KIA Tigers on Thursday (1PM @ Ivy Stadium).

...Notes from Tuesday's intra-squa practice game:

...Tadashi Settsu tossed a shutout inning and hit 141km/h on the radar gun.  He faced 4 hitters and did not give up a hit.

...Both Tomoaki Egawa and Hayato Doue hit RBI singles in the top of the 5th.  Doue finished with 2 hits.

...Kenta Nakanishi (started in center and batted 9th) hit a home run in the bottom of the 6th.

...Nobuhiko Matsunaka took some cuts in the batting cages for just the second time during Spring camp on Tuesday.  He told reporters that his knee is feeling better and that he'd like to spend a few more days in the batting cages before taking the next step.

...Tsuyoshi Wada threw 92 pitches (including his curve and slider) during a bullpen session on Tuesday.  He told reporters he was feeling better than before.

...Koji Akiyama is hoping the hitters start turning things up a notch.  He also plans on using six (out of  ten) pitchers from Group B during an intra-squad practice game on Tuesday.

...Hitoshi Tamura is currently using two different kinds of bats: a 950 gram bat with the top of the bat head carved in and a 980 gram training bat where the top of the bat head is flat.  Tamura told reporters that he may add two more bats to his test.

Tamura has also added pool exercises to his training menu this year (after practice and on days off).

...Toshiya Sugiuchi played some golf with 15 other pitchers and catchers on the team's day off on Monday.
