Hiroshima Carp: Day Off

...Carlo Alvarado worked out on his day off Wednesday.

...The Carp had a hyperbaric oxygen chamber brought in during the team's day off on Wednesday.  The first to use it was Ryuji Yokoyama; he spent about an hour in the chamber.

...Head coach Yutaka Ohno said the team might consider Alvarado for the starting rotation based on his two intra-squad practice game outings (3 innings, 1 run, 1 hit).

...Mike Schultz threw 36 pitches during a bullpen session on Tuesday.

...Notes from Tuesday's intra-squad practice game:

Alvarado started for the white team and threw two perfect innings.  He threw a total 16 pitches (only 2 balls).

Yuki Saito started for the red team and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits over 2 innings of work.

Dioni Soriano threw 2 hitless innings.  He also struck out two batters in row at one point and broke two bats.
