Yokohama Bay Stars: Tsutsugo has tough outing during Wednesday’s intra-squad game

by on Feb.17, 2010 @ 6:10 pm, under NPB, Spring Camp

...Masao Iida (Tigers' scout) on Yoshitomo Tsutsugo's outing on Wednesday: He definitely has power.  And it seems he's got more bat speed than some of the footage I've seen.

...A note from Wednesday's intra-squad practice game:

Tsutsugo started at third and batted fourth.  He struck out in his first at bat in the second; grounded into a double play in his second at bat; and grounder out to third in his third at bat.

...Futoshi Kobayashi threw 260 pitches during a bullpen session on Tuesday.  Takao Obana was apparently impressed with the session, saying that it was the first time he saw Kobayashi throw well.  His session lasted about 1.5 hours.

Kobayashi has also been working on a change that not only moves, but also changes speed.

...Tsutsugo took 44 swings during indoor BP on Tuesday and collected 17 could-be hits.

...Andrew Sisco did not throw a bullpen session on Tuesday but did play some catch.  Both Sisco and Ricky Barrett are currently trying out for the team.
