...Notes from Friday's intra-squad practice game:

Yuta Ohmine started and tossed three shutout innings; he gave up a hit and struck out three.  He also got Tae-Gyun Kim to hit into two GIDPs.

Bryan Corey threw a scoreless inning in relief and struck out two batters.

Yoshihiro Ito ran into some control problems during his outing, loading the bases on a walk, a hit, and an HBP.  He ultimately ended up allowing three runs to score.

Tadahito Iguchi went 3-for-3 with a double -- two singles against Yuki Karakawa in his first two at bats and a double off Hiroki Ueno in his third at bat.

...The reporters got to eat breakfast with Norifumi Nishimura on Friday after morning exercises.  Not really sure what was said because he apparently asked reporters that everything was off the record.

...The Marines announced that Akira Ohtsuka had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee (左ひざ半月板鏡視下切除術) on Thursday and that his surgery was a success.  The knee will require about 2 months to heal.  Ohtsuka will be discharged from the hospital on the 19th.

...Nishimura announced that Yuki Karakawa will start a practice game against the Yakult Swallows on the 2/23.  The was originally some concern as to whether or not Karakawa would be ok to go on the 23rd after popping a blister on his right middle finger, but he was able to start throwing again on Wednesday.
