Specifically, it was a play that went down in the second and involved a runner on second with 1 out. ...Shinya Miyamoto told reporters on Friday that his right calf was feeling fine and that he wanted to do a lot of hitting this season. Miyamoto currently needs 297 more hits to reach 2,000 and admitted that it would be a difficult milestone for him to reach. He also said that he's reached a point in his career where he needs to take things year by year. How Miyamoto performs this season will likely go a long way towards determining whether he'll be able to reach the 2,000 hit milestone or not.
