...An additional note from Sunday's intra-squad practice game:

Kazuhito Futagami started the game and gave up a run over 3 innings of work.

...Sunday marked the final day of Ni-gun camp.

...Minoru Iwata will be returning to Osaka with the Ni-gun players.  On Sunday, he did some long-distance throwing (about 35 meters).  There was talk of him returning to Ichi-gun camp, but the Tigers don't want to make Iwata feel rushed into coming back sooner than is necessary.  Iwata will continue his rehab-training at Naruohama.

...A note from Sunday's intra-squad practice game:

Kenji Johjima was the starting DH and batted fourth.  He hit a home run off Keiji Uezono in his first at bat in the second.

...Akinobu Mayumi apparently wasn't too pleased at the results from Saturday's intra-squad practice game.  He rounded the players up after the game and scolded everyone for their lackadaisical play.  A few examples include: Yuhei Kai was picked off; Hiroki Uemoto made a couple of bad throws to first; players weren't covering second base properly on throw down attempts from the catcher; Kai tried to throw a ball from the outfield to home without the use of the cut-off man.

...Additional notes from Saturday's intra-squad practice game:

Tatsuya Kojima threw 7 first pitch strikes to 10 batters.  The lone hit Kojima surrendered came off Kodai Sakurai's bat in the first inning with 2 out.

Mitsunobu Takahashi was the starting DH and batted 6th; he collected 2 hits.

Wei-Chu Lin was the other starting DH and batted 5th; he went 3-for-4 with a double.

Kenichi Tagami started in center and batted 9th.  He went 0-for-2 with 1 walk.

Kodai Sakurai started in right and batted 3rd.  He went 1-for-2 with a double and a stolen base.

Shunsuke Fujikawa started in left and batted 9th.  Fujikawa drove in two runs when he hit a single into center, during his second at bat, with runners on second and third with 2 out in the 5th.  In his at bat in the 3rd, he walked and was thrown out at second.

Matt Murton went 0-for-3.

Ryo Asai hit a solo homer in the 5th off Kai-Wen Cheng.

...Kojima could pitch again on the 27th or 28th (exhibition games against the Orix Buffaloes).

...Kenji Johjima took 49 swings during BP on Saturday and hit 12 over the fence (he took 22 swings and hit 1 over the fence vs a left-handed pitcher and took 27 swings and hit 11 over the fence vs a right-handed pitcher).

Johjima also spoke to Mayumi for about 23 minutes in the bullpen about how he wanted Johjima to lead the pitchers during exhibition games.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto took 43 swings during BP on Saturday and hit 8 over the fence.  He also ran 5 sets of 20m and 40m dashes.

...Minoru Iwata threw 54 pitches into a net on Saturday.

...Kazuhito Futagami threw 45 pitches in a bullpen session on Saturday.
