Nippon Ham Fighters: Hichori Morimoto to start season at Ni-gun?

...Notes from Sunday's practice game against the Yakult Swallows:

Masaru Takeda started and gave up 4 runs (all earned) on 4 hits (1 HR) and a walk.  He faced a total 14 batters and struck out 4.

Takahiro Matsuka pitched 2 shutout innings in relief and gave up 2 hits.

Sho Nakata started in left and batted 7th.  He went 0-for-3 with a walk.

Two batters flip-flopped their spots in the batting order: Atsunori Inaba batted 5th and Yoshio Itoi batted 3rd.  The

...Masataka Nashida is thinking of keeping Matsuka at Ichi-gun camp.

...A note from Saturday's intra-squad practice game:

Masao Kida started and tossed 3 innings while giving up a run on 2 hits.

Romash Tasuku Dass gave up two runs (2-run HR) over an inning of work.  He told reporters he had trouble getting loose in the bullpen.

Sho Nakata picked up his double off Dass in his final at bat of the game (9th inning).

Hirotoshi Masui topped out at 147km/h.

Shota Ohno hit a home run off Hisashi Takeda in the third inning.

...Prior to his hit in the 9th on Saturday, Nakata had gone 9 straight plate appearances without a hit.

...Yu Darvish threw 103 pitches during a bullpen session on Sunday.  Masato (MMA fighter) was on hand to watch him pitch.

...Hichiro Morimoto will likely return to Tokyo at the end of Ni-gun Spring camp on the 23rd and continue his rehab-training at Kamagaya with the Ni-gun team.

...Kazumasa Kikuchi will likely join Ichi-gun camp on the 24th.  Kikuchi is working his way back from a fissured fracture in the tip of his right ring finger.
