Yakult Swallows: Shohei Tateyama won’t be ready for the start of the regular season?

...Notes from Sunday's practice game against the Nippon Ham Fighters:

Yoshinori Sato gave up 5 runs on 7 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strike outs over 4 innings of work.

Hye-Chun Lee tossed three shut-out inning.  He also gave up 2 hits and struck out 2.

Eulogio De La Cruz tossed a perfect 8th and struck out 2.

Yuhei Takai started in center and batted lead-off.  He went 2-for-4 and also struck out twice.

The Fighters beat the Swallows, 5-4.

...Shohei Tateyama threw 60 balls during a game of catch in the bullpen on Sunday, followed by about 40 balls with a little more power.  Tateyama told reporters that while he could probably throw BP, he was in no shape to pitch in any games yet (he can't throw his off-speed pitches very well).  He was also scheduled to throw to a squatting catcher on the 23rd, but decided to put that off for the time being.

...Shigeru Takada told reporters on Saturday that he's thinking of Lee as a potential candidate to take over Tateyama's spot in the rotation.  At this point, Takada is hoping to be ready some time during the second week of April.  Lee will likely start an exhibition game against the Nippon Ham Fighters on the 28th.
