Nippon Ham Fighters: Opening day (3/20) tickets already sold out

...Atsunori Inaba wasn't scheduled to take grounders with the infielders after general practice on Monday, but did so anyway.  He manned first base.  For batting practice, Inaba purposely took BP outside just so that he could hit the heavier, rain-soaked balls.

...Brian Wolfe faced Dai-Kang Yang (Yoh), Sho Nakata, and Kazuya Murata and gave up just 1 could-be hit.  Masataka Nashida felt Wolfe showed good control by keeping the ball down.

...The Fighters have given up on the idea of converting Masanori Hayashi into starter.  His left elbow has been bothering him and it seems they think he just might not be cut out for starting.  They also removed him from his scheduled start on the 23rd.

...Brian Wolfe threw 36 pitches during his first BP outing on Monday and faced three batters.  He told reporters he was at about 80%.

...Yoshinori Tateyama's next appearance will likely come on the 25th against the Chiba Lotte Marines.  Tateyama told reporters that things his progress has slowed a bit but will likely ramp up again in early March (as usual).

...Yu Darvish will likely get to pitch in 2-3 more games before the start of the regular season.

...The Fighters apparently have plenty of right-handed options for the bullpen (asides from Tateyama and Hisashi Takeda).  The list includes: Shintaro Ejiri, Takayuki Kanamori, Takeharu Kato, Bob Keppel, and Takahiro Matsuka.

...Tickets to the opening day game on 3/20 (for general consumption) were sold out on the same they went on sale (2/21).  Tickets for games on the 21st and 22nd are apparently still available (in limited quantities).
