by on Feb.22, 2010 @ 8:37 pm, under NPB, Spring Camp

...Kenta Matsusaka worked out on his day off on Monday.  He has now worked out every day off during Spring camp this year.

...Yusei Kikuchi did not do anything throwing on Sunday.  Instead, he played some soccer and had a chance to watch Kimiyasu Kudo throw a bullpen.  He also the practice game against the Hiroshima Carp.  And while he didn't get a shot to chat with Takeru Imamura, Kikuchi did say that his dream was to play on a national team that also included all his Koshien rivals

...Kudo gave Ginjiro some catching tips (pitch patterns) during his bullpen session on Sunday.  It was apparently the same way he helped Kenji Johjima out while with the Softbank Hawks.  As for the bullpen session itself, Kudo threw 89 pitches, including 6 change-ups.

...Additional notes from Sunday's practice game against the Hiroshima Carp:

Ryoma Nogami tossed 2 innings and gave up 2 runs on a 2-run homer in the second inning.

Hideto Asamura collected three hits: a run-scoring double in the second with 1 out, a single in the fourth, and a triple in the 8th (he tried to score but was thrown out at home).

Taketoshi Goto hit a 2-run home run in the third.

Hisashi Takayam's first 2-run homer came in the first; he second came in the fourth.
