...Ryoji Aikawa worked out on his day off Monday.  Aikawa has been taking this slow during camp due to some tightness in his left flank (he apparently hurt the area while throwing during the previous session).  Seems he's feeling much better and should be able to resume regular practice on Tuesday.  He could also be ready to play in an exhibition game against the Yokohama Bay Stars on the 27th.

...Yuhei Nakamura is turning some heads with his strong arm (he even impressed Atsuya Furuta).  Unfortunately, he still lacks in other areas (hitting, calling games).

...Additional notes from Sunday's practice game against the Nippon Ham Fighters:

Yoshinori Sato threw 65 pitches and topped out at 152km/h.  Sato had 1-2-3 innings in the first and fourth.  He struggled the most when pitching out of the stretch.

Eulogio De La Cruz topped out at 153km/h (twice).  He also threw a 139km/h change.

...Keizo Kawashima appears to be thinking about getting surgery on his right elbow.  Kawashima hurt the elbow last September and initially decided to forgo surgery in favor of rehab-training treatment.  But since things haven't gone quite as well as he would have wanted, surgery is now back on the table.  Kawashima will be getting the elbow checked out again this week to see what his options are.
