...Notes from Tuesday's intra-squad practice game:
Kan Ohtake started for the white team and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits over 2 innings of work.
Kenta Maeda started for the red team and tossed 2 shutout innings and scattered 3 hits.
Akihiro Higashide hit a 2-run triple in the 2nd.
Both Go Kida and Tetsuya Kokubo drove in runs in the third.
Kenta Kurihara hit a 2-run homer in the 6th.
...Takeru Imamura threw 20 pitchers to a squatting catcher on Tuesday. Imamura is working his way back from tightness in his right shoulder.
...Seems John Bale's wife, Genevieve, is one of the reasons why he's currently wearing a Carp uniform. She apparently e-mailed the Carp in February to see if they might give him another chance. According to Nikkan Sports, Genevieve's e-mail went along the following lines:
Please give John one more chance to return to Japan. His family also loves Japan. And we'll even accept a salary of $100,000 plus incentives.
Bale could throw a bullpen as early as the 23rd.
