...The Hawks announced on Wednesday that jet balloons will be allowed back at home games, beginning on 2/26 (exhibition game against the Hiroshima Carp at Yahoo Dome).
...Notes from Wednesday's B Group practice game against ENEOS:
Sho Iwasaki started and tossed 4 shutout inning. He gave up 3 hits and did not walk any batters.
Shota Ohba threw 4 innings in relief and gave up 1 run on 2 hits (including a solo HR).
Kenta Imamiya started at short and batted 8th. He managed to collect his "first pro hit" in his first at bat of the game.
Shotaro Ide hit a home run.
The Hawks beat the ENEOS, 5-1.

...Shingo Tatsumi has now tossed 7 innings (spanning 2 games) and held opponents to 0 runs and 1 hit.
...Akira Nakamura's surgery on Tuesday was a success (removal of his right hamate bone - 右手有鈎骨鈎摘出手術). Nakamura will likely be discharged on Wednesday and will require at least 2 months for recovery. He'll join Ni-gun camp for his rehab-training.
...Munenori Kawsaki is hoping to play in an exhibition game against the Hiroshima Carp (at Yahoo Dome) on the 26th. He told reporters that he was feeling much better.
...Brian Falkenborg tossed 25 pitches during a bullpen session on Tuesday. He's scheduled to pitch against the Hiroshima Carp on the 27th (exhibition game). Falkenborg will likely pitch in at least 6 exhibition games prior to the start of the regular season.
...Tsuyoshi Wada held a bullpen session on Tuesday and threw 60 pitches. Wada is scheduled to start and pitch 2 innings against the Carp on the 26th (exhibition game).
...Nagisa Arakaki threw 118 pitches (including his slider and curve) during a bullpen session on Tuesday. Arakaki is currently at Ni-gun camp working his way back from right shoulder inflammation. Arakaki is currently slated to pitch BP on the 26th. He'll likely throw a couple more BP sessions before the team determines whether he's ready to pitch in any games.
...Nike is apparently preparing three kinds of shoes for Nobuhiko Matsunaka this year. The idea is to relieve as much strain on the knees by selecting shoes based on surface types.
