...Notes from Thursday's practice game against the SK Wyverns:

Yuji Yoshimi started and threw 3 shutout innings.  He also gave up 3 hits and got three batters to ground in double plays.

Futoshi Kobayashi tossed 3 shutout innings in relief and gave up just 1 hit.

Shomo Sato gave up 3 runs in an inning of work.

Yuta Naito (RF), Shingo Takeyama (C), and Noriharu Yamazaki (2B) finished with 2 hits a piece.

The Wyverns beat the Bay Stars, 4-1.

...Yota Kosugi started the practice game against the Nippon Ham Fighters on the 23rd and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits over 3 innings of work.  On Thursday, he threw 100 pitches in a bullpen session and received some pointers from Takao Obana.

...The Bay Stars informed Yoshitomo Tsutsugo that they don't want him batting from the right side for the time being.  Tsutsugo's hitting from the left side is starting to come around and they don't want him worrying about his hitting from the right side (head coach Makoto Shimada said he thought Tsutsugo was good enough from the left side and he didn't need to be a switch hitter).  And while Tsutsugo wanted to be considered a switch-hitter, he'll obviously go along with the team's request.

Tsutsugo spent about 30 minutes on his day off Wednesday taking soft toss BP.

...Stephen Randolph visited Kadena on his day off Wednesday.  He told reporters he was excited to visit the place he was born.  Randolph is hoping he'll have a chance to pitch in one of the two games the Bay Stars play in Naha, Okinawa in June against the Yakult Swallows (6/29, 30).
