...The Giants worked on laying down bunts and hitting the ball to the right-side of the field on Thursday.

...Takahiko Nomaguchi threw 88 pitches during BP on Thursday and gave up 5 could-be hits.

...Shugo Fujii threw about 40 pitches in a bullpen session on Thursday.  He is scheduled to pitch in a practice game against the Seibu Lions on Friday.

...Daisuke Nakai will likely get to play in Friday's practice game against the Seibu Lions.

...The Giants plan on using Hisayoshi Chono as much as they can during exhibition play.

...Hayato Sakamoto is hoping to play in every inning of every exhibition game the Giants play (18 games).

...Marc Kroon is scheduled to throw a bullpen session with the catcher squatting on the 28th.  Kroon started playing catch on the 11th.  He threw to a squatting catcher on flat ground on the 23rd.  The next step will be to throw a bullpen with a standing catcher, perhaps sometime on the 26th.  If he's feeling fine after that, he'll end Spring camp (2/28) throwing a bullpen session with the catcher squatting.

Kroon originally told reporters on the 14th that his first bullpen might not happen until March.  That he might be able to throw a bullpen in February likely means that his elbow is feeling much better.  Kroon still likely won't be ready for the start of the regular season.

On Thursday, Kroon spotted a couple making preparations to get married at the hotel the players are staying at and stopped to wish them a happy marriage.  He also took photos with the couple.

...Ryota Wakiya found out on Wednesday that he had a fracture in his left shoulder.  Wakiya was hit by a batted ball during BP on the 20th and was checked out after practice on the 23rd.

Wakiya will now return to Tokyo for treatment and will likely require three weeks for a full recovery.

Hidetoshi Tsuburaya will join Ichi-gun camp on Thursday to take Wakiya's place.

...Wirfin Obispo and Taishi Ohta have been demoted to Ni-gun camp; Daisuke Nakai and Masafumi Togano will take their places at Ichi-gun.
