...Kazuki Yoshimi threw 70 pitches during a bullpen session on Thursday. Yoshimi has been focusing on placing more of his weight on his right foot and has been using an exaggerated delivery in order to get his body used to it. That said, it seems he takes more time during his delivery, saying that it helps with his velocity and with throwing the batter's timing off.
...Wei-Ying Chen held a bullpen session on Thursday and threw 75 pitches. He finished out Spring camp with 1,570 (tops on the team). Three times during camp he threw 150+ pitches. Still, Chen isn't quite happy about his lower body, grading his camp a 50%. (He even missed two days -- 11th and 12th -- due to a bad rash.)
...Takuya Asao has special insoles in his cleats that help provide him with more stability for his lower body when he pitches. The idea is that better stability (balance) in the lower body will result in better accuracy.
