Hanshin Tigers: Ando and Kubo throw 200+ pitches in bullpen on Thursday

...The Tigers closed out their Spring camp on Friday.

...Additional notes from Thursday's intra-squad practice game:

Yamato started at short and batting 9th.  He picked up a 2-out RBI single off Tsuyoshi Shimoyangi in the 2nd.

...Kyuji Fujikawa's training clothes arrived from Yonex on Thursday.

...Atsushi Noumi threw 154 pitches (including a fork and change) in a bullpen session on Thursday.  Yuya Ando threw 204 pitches and Yasutomo Kubo threw 208.

Down at Ni-gun camp, Minoru Iwata threw 20 pitches to a standing catcher in a bullpen session on Thursday.  Iwata is scheduled to throw another session on Friday.  If everything goes well, he should be able to toss BP sometime in early March.  Iwata could also pitch in his first game sometime in mid-March.

...Additional notes from Thursday's intra-squad practice game:

Kyuji Fujikawa topped out at 144 km/h.  He faced 3 batters and threw 8 pitches (all fastballs).

Tomoyuki Kubota tossed a perfect inning and topped out at 144km/h.

Casey Fossum topped out at 138 km/h. His other pitchers: slider - 130 km/h; curve - 115 km/h; and Fossum flip - 86 km/h.

Matt Murton started in center and batter first; he went 2-for-3.

Craig Brazell started at first and batted fourth; he also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Wei-Chu Lin started in right and batted fifth; he went 1-for-2 with a double.

...Lin is now 9-for-16 over 5 practice games.  6 of his 9 hits went towards center.

...Kodai Sakurai has not recorded a hit over his last two consecutive games.

...It was the first time in about 15 years that Kenji Johjima caught Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi in a game.
