Notes: Hideaki Wakui may have given up three runs in three innings of work, but he was still satisfied with the outing because he was able to pitch his game. ... Tetsuya Utsumi hit the first batter he faced then retired 9 straight.  He never got around to throwing his new pitch, the cutter. ... Yoshinobu Takahashi started and played in his first full regular season game since September 22, 2008 (he also played a full game on 10/24/2008 against the Chunichi Dragons during the Climax Series).  He also appeared to show legs that were healthy -- he tried to stretch a double into a triple, but was thrown out sliding into third; and he hit a double in the sixth. ... Hisayoshi Chono extended his "hitting streak" to 8 games. ... Hideaki Wakui topped out at 141km/h.  He told reporters he had to work on pitching out of the stretch.

Rakuten Eagles vs Yokohama Bay Stars at Ginowan Stadium - 1:00pm

Canceled due to tsunami warnings.  The game was apparently called after the line-up cards were exchanged and the players had taken their fielding practice. ... About 7,500 fans were already on hand.

Masaru Takeda told reporters that he rushed his throws a bit in the 5th, causing him to throw strikes in situations where he wanted to throw balls. ... The game at Urasoe wasn't canceled because the stadium is apparently on higher ground than Ginowan Stadium.
