...Pitching coach Takashi Yamaguchi told reporters on Sunday that Tomoyuki Kubota will likely be used out of the bullpen again this year.

...Tatsuya Kojima is trying to pitch his way into the rotation.  He finished out Sunday's game with three shutout innings.

...Tigers owner Shinya Sakai was at the game on Saturday and appeared satisfied with the team's performance.

...Kazuhito Futagami could be pitching his way into the Tigers' rotation.

...Ikuro Katsuragi might not have a position to play.  In right field, there's Kodai Sakurai and Wei-Chu Lin; at first there's Craig Brazell; and in center Matt Murton.  But if he puts up numbers like he did on Saturday (3-for-3), the Tigers will need to find a place for him to play.  Of course, one game does not a starter make.

...The last time the Tigers hit 5 home runs in one game was back on March 14, 2006: Tomoaki Kanemoto x 2, Osamu Hamanaka, Andy Sheets.

...Murton apparently had a big upper body, specifically his arms: when getting his physical in late-January, the blood pressure band wasn't long enough to wrap around his arm.
