Notes: The Lions turned a triple play in the 8th inning. With runners on first and second and no out, third baseman Hiroshi Hirao made a nice grab of a ball down the third base line that almost got through. From there he stepped on third and then threw to second. Takuya Hara kept the play going by throwing the ball over to first. ... Tsuyoshi Nishioka showed his speed and power by collecting a bunt single in the third and a home run in the 6th.
