Kiyoichiro Ogura will be retiring from his post as director of the Yokohama high school baseball team at the end of March. Current coach Tetsu Hirata will become the new director after Ogura steps down. Current manager Tomonori Watanabe will stay on after the changes.
Ogura listed three options (returning as a coach, working at another school / organization, or quitting) for what he could do next. While he didn't specify which he wanted to do, working at another school / organization appears to be out of the equation. Most likely seems to return to Yokohama as a coach. Ogura is scheduled to meet with school officials against on 3/25 to finalize his plans.
The duo of Ogura and Watanabe are known for bringing up players like Daisuke Matsuzaka, Hideaki Wakui, Yoshihisa Naruse, and Hitoshi Tamura.
Tomohiro Machida has agreed to basic terms with Yamaha (Industrial League), pre-dated to 4/1. Machida has already left the Waseda baseball team and will officially leave the university sometime this month.
