...Masanori Fujihara graduated from Ritsumei University on Sunday.

...Takahashi Toritani continues to swing a hot bat.  His numbers from Sunday's exhibition game against the Hiroshima Carp: 3-for-5, 2 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI.  Unfortunately, his glove taketh away: in the 4th, his bad throw to first ultimately resulted in 3 runs scoring.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto recorded his first exhibition game hit on Saturday.  The hit came in his 15th trip to the plate.  He finished 1-for-4 with 2 strikeouts.  Kanemoto did even better on Sunday: 2-for-5, 2B, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, SO

...Matt Murton played in right field during the ninth inning on Saturday.  Murton might find himself playing in right whenever the team needs to strengthen its outfield defense -- Shunsuke Fujikawa would enter the game and play center, right fielder Kodai Sakurai would come out of the game, and Murton would slide over to right.

...Kenji Johjima told reporters that he wasn't happy with his game-calling on Saturday, claiming that his calls just happened to fall into the same patterns the Hiroshima batters follow, which happens to be swing at fastballs.

...It was a rough game for Yuya Ando on Saturday -- he gave up 6 earned runs in 5 innings of work.  Just another reason why the Tigers are hitting the panic button.

Ando's final line: 5 IP, 24 BF, 90 NP, 10 H, 2 SO, 0 BB, 6 R, 6 ER.

It seems his new change was largely ineffective (at least that's what he told reporters).

...Tatsuya Kojima started a Ni-gun game on the Saturday against Softbank and threw three shutout innings while scattering two hits.  Kojima will likely have one more change to pitch against between 3/23 and 3/25 (Orix series).

...Perhaps one of the most pathetically sad images of a pitcher you'll ever see.
