...Alex Cabrera apparently apologized to Chihiro Kaneko before Sunday's game. He also met with Akinobu Okada earlier in the day and it now seems the two are on the same page.

...Chihiri Kaneko tossed his first no-walk, complete game shutout on Saturday against the Rakuten Eagles. He faced a total 29 batters and needed only 106 pitches for the complete game.
34 people from Kaneko's fan club in Nagano, including his parents, boarded a bus at 5am in order to make his start. His wife and 2-year-old son were also at the game.
...Seems Alex Cabrera wasn't in the line-up due to a minor scuffle he had with Akinobu Okada -- Cabrera wanted to start at first but Okada him at DH. End result: out of the line-up completely.
On 3/1, Cabrera shouted out in Japanese that he hated DH'ing. He might have to get used to it because that's exactly where Okada expects him to play for most of the season.
So what does Cabrera do on Sunday? He hits a 2-run homer in the third inning off Masahiro Tanaka that gave the club a 2-0 lead (at the time). Cabrera ended his day 2-for-4 with a HR, R, 2 RBI, and a SO.
...Okada's wife and mother were in the stands watching the game behind home plate.
...Team owner Yoshihiko Miyauchi was at the game on Saturday.
...Osaka mayor Kunio Hiramatsu made a speech during opening ceremonies on opening day. Kaho Sendo sang the Japanese anthem. And Yumi Sugimoto threw out the ceremonial first pitch (it was a lollipop throw that didn't bounce once).
