...Teppei worked out on the team's day off on Tuesday. He told reporters that his upper body and lower body weren't in sync during the first two games of the season and that things started getting better during the third game. It seems he's also moving away from the batting stance he used last season because he's having a hard time keeping everything balanced and will instead grab some hints from the stance he used back in 2006.
...Kazuo Fukumori and Todd Linden also worked out on Tuesday. Fukumori did some running while Linden spent about an hour in the weight room.
...The Ni-gun Eagles also began their season with a loss. Koji Aoyama started the game and tossed a shutout through 6 while giving up 3 hits and 3 walks. He also struck out 7. Things fell apart for the Eagles when Hideki Asai entered the game in the 7th and gave up 4 runs in both the 7th and 8th innings.
...It seems about 80% of the Eagles' home games will be televised this year.
...Hisashi Iwakuma's book Tokyu Kakumei (投球革命) is apparently selling pretty well. 25,000 were printed during the first print run. A second print run of 20,000 has already been decided. That might not seem like a lot, but for a sports book in Japan, it is.
