...Munenori Kawasaki needs only 4 more hits to reach 1,000 in his career.

...Nobuhiko Matsunaka worked out with the Ichi-gun roster on Wednesday and went 3-for-4 with 2 walks and a home run during a simulated game.  It seems at this point that Matsunaka will be making a return to Ichi-gun on 4/6 against the Chiba Lotte Marines (home game).

...Tsuyoshi Wada kept his workouts light on Wednesday in preparation for his likely home opener start on the 26th.  On Tuesday, he tossed about 80 pitches in the bullpen and stayed back at the stadium until about 8pm.

...Koji Akiyama told reporters on Wednesday that his team needs to be careful about giving up the long ball to the Orix Buffaloes and noted players like Alex Cabrera, Greg LaRocca, and Takahiro Okada.

...The Hawks will be holding a meeting on Thursday to discuss strategy on how to handle the Orix Buffaloes.

...Sho Iwasaki and Shingo Tatsumi pitched in Tuesday's practice game against the Nagasaki Saints (Island League).  Iwasaki started the game and tossed 5 shutout innings while scattering 2 hits.  Tatsumi tossed 4 shutout innings in relief and gave up 2 hits.  Both pitchers will likely join the Ichi-gun roster for practice, beginning on Wendesday.

...Soichiro Tateoka started at second and batted second during Tuesday's practice game and went 2-for-4 with 6 RBI, including a grand slam homer in the second.

...The Hawks announced discounted Super Box tickets for three games during the 2010 season.  The discount is available only to Club Hawks members.
