Hideki Matsui, Ryota Igarashi, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Shingo Takatsu

Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted 4th against the Kansas City Royals on the 24th.  He went 2-for-2: single to center, walk, 3-run homer to right-center.  Just before he hit the home run in his third at bat, Matsui also hit a foul ball that put a crack in Art Moreno's front windshield.

Takashi Saito tossed a scoreless 7th against the Philadelphia Phillies on the 24th.  He did not give up any hits and walked one.

Kenshin Kawakami is still scheduled to start an exhibition game on the 25th against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Ryota Igarashi told reporters he was feeling fine on the 24th, one day after he pitched on consecutive days.  He added that he could "probably even throw again today if I had to."  Igarashi also told reporters he felt like he was getting "tougher" inside.

Akinori Iwamura started at second and batted lead-off against the Boston Red Sox on the 24th.  He went 2-for-3: double to left and a stolen base, strike out, single to right.  He also stole a base.  Iwamura was taken out of the game in the 6th on defense.

Daisuke Matsuzaka played some catch on the 24th in preparation for his outing on the 25th.  Matsuzaka is currently schedule to following Tim Wakefield as the second pitcher of the game and will likely throw about 2 innings.

Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted lead-off against the Texas Rangers on the 24th.  He went 3-for-3 with an RBI: single to right, walk, RBI single to center, single to left.  Fukudome was removed in the 6th on defense.

Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first against the San Deigo Padres on the 24th.  He went 0-for-4: fly out to right, strike out looking, fly out to short, ground out to second.

Hiroki Kuroda started a game against the Oakland A's on the 24th.  He tossed 5.1 scoreless inning while giving up a hit and 2 walks.  He also struck out two.

Shingo Takatsu appeared in his first regular season game for the La New Bears (CPBL) on the 23rd and entered the game in the 12th with the score tied at one.  He gave up 1 hit and did not allow a run to score in his inning of work.  The game ended in a tie.
