Softbank Hawks: Masayoshi Son thinking about streaming Twitter messages at Yahoo Dome

by on Mar.25, 2010 @ 10:21 pm, under NPB

...Tsyoshi Wada will get the start on Friday, Toshiya Sugiuchi will pitch on the Saturday, and Kenji Otonari on Sunday.

...Wada only needs 8 more strike outs to hit 1000 for his career.

...Looks like there's a chance Nobuhiko Matsunaka might be promoted to Ichi-gun in time for their upcoming series against the Orix Buffaloes that begins on the 26th.  Koji Akiyama told reporters on Thursday that Matsunaka's condition had improved significantly since the last time he saw him play.  During BP on Thursday, Matsunaka swung the bat with authority.  Matsunaka added that running is no longer a problem for him.

The demotion of Arihito Muramatsu on Thursday could pave the way for a Matsunaka promotion on Friday.

...Ikusei player Koji Uchida was supposed to start a Ni-gun practice game on Wednesday, but the game was rained out.  Later that day he was called up to Ichi-gun to toss a simulated game and gave up home runs to Matsunaka and Kenji Akashi.

...It appears Tatsumi Shingo has won the 6th spot in the rotation.  Both Sho Iwasaki and Shingo worked out with the Ichi-gun roster on Wednesday.

...Bun-Ho Lee did not take fielding practice on Wednesday because his right shoulder was acting up.  He did, however, take BP as usual.

...Hiroki Kokubo is looking forward to facing his former Yomiuri Giant team mate, Hiroshi Kisanuki on the 28th.

...Akiyama spent some time talking to his head coach, Daijiro Oishi, on Wednesday to see if he had some information that could use against the Orix Buffaloes.  Oishi was the Buffaloes' manager last season.

...Seems the Hawks might be thinking about streaming Twitter messages in real-time during home games at Yahoo Dome.  That could either end up being a really neat thing, or a PR disaster.

...Toshiya Sugiuchi is now officially registered in the Japan Marrow Donor Program.

...The Hawks have signed a one-year media sponsorship agreement with Big Motor.  Their logo will be located inside the on deck circle.

...The Hawks will be handing out victory flags with the Softbank Dog printed on it during their three games series against the Chiba Lotte Marines that begins on 4/6.  They also announced that tickets to infield seats for the rubber game (4/8) will be half off.

In addition to the game on 4/8, there will be four other dates (5/7, 6/24, 8/25, and 9/7) when tickets to infield seats are half off.

...The Hawks 2010 Year Book will go on sale beginning 3/27 (3/30 for the Kyushu region).
