...Makoto Kaneko was left out of the starting line-up on Friday after he complained of pain in his left flank during pre-game BP.  He apparently started feeling the pain during practice on the 24th.  He told reporters the pain was in an area he's never injured before.

...Yu Darvish threw 41 pitches (including 5 one-seamers) in a bullpen session on the 25th.  Darvish had Sho Nakata stand in the batter's box for 18 of his pitches (it seems Darvish warned Nakata not to run away from his pitches).

Nakata on Darvish's one-seamer: I saw it.  All I can say is that it was amazing.

...Keisaku Itokazu will likely take Bobby Keppel's next turn in the rotation (3/30 vs Orix Buffaloes).

...Takahiro Matsuka kept his practices light on Thursday -- he already tossed a 40-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday.

...The Nippon Ham Fighters Ni-gun team will be playing a game against a team of players selected from 16 JABA Hokkaido teams. The game will be played at Nopporo Sports Park in Hokkaido on 5/21 and will be free to all fans.

...The Fighters announced a new promotion on Friday called Fighters Experience.

...The 2010 Family Series will take place between 4/27 - 5/2 this year.

...Thanks Mothers! Kensuke Day will take place on 5/2.
