Ryota Igarashi, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Koji Uehara

Hisanori Takahashi took some BP in the cages on the 25th.  It seems the Mets might try pitching Takahashi on consecutive days, in relief, after his start on the 27th.  He also tossed 62 pitches in the bullpen, either on the 24th or 25th.

Ryota Igarashi threw 44 pitches in the bullpen on the 25th.  While throwing his session, a coach suggested he push off his back foot a little harder.  After making the adjustment, Igarashi's fork apparently start dropping a little better.  He also apparently got some pointer on how to throw a two-seamer from Francisco Rodriguez.

Koji Uehara still can't do any running.  But on the 25th, while playing a game of catch, he was seen lifting his left leg a little higher than he was able to a few days ago.  Uehara also spent some time working out on a stationary bike.

Hideki Matsui went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the 25th: ground out to third, single to center, double to left.

===

Daisuke Matsuzaka took the mound against the Florida Marlins on the 25th.  He entered the game in the 7th and tossed 2 innings while giving up a run on 2 hits.  Matsuzaka topped out at 140km/h.  His next appearance will likely be on the 29th.  After that, he'll pitch on 4 days of rest.

Junichi Tazawa was supposed to pitch in the game against the Florida Marlins on the 25th, but he instead threw 28 pitches in the bullpen.  It seems the Red Sox want Tazawa working on keeping his pitches down and wanted him to work on doing that in a bullpen session, instead of an exhibition game.

Hideki Okajima worked on his bunting skills on the 25th.  In order to protect his throwing arm / shoulder, he took his practice from the right batter's box.

Kazuo Matsui started at second and batted second against the Philadelphia Phillies on the 25th.  He went 0-for-3: fly out to short, ground out to short and reached on error, ground out to third, walk.  He was taken out of the game in the 7th on defense.

===

Kenshin Kawakami started against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the 25th.  He tossed 6 shutout innings and allowed 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2.

===

Akinori Iwamura started at second and batted second against the Atlanta Braves on the 25th.  He went 0-for-3: fly out to right, strike out, fly out to left.  He was taken out of the game in the 7th on defense.

===

It appears Hiroki Kuroda might be the fourth man in the rotation.

===

Ichiro Suzuki told reporters that he'll use the internet just to keep up-to-date with how Kenji Johjima is doing.  Ichiro apparently isn't into using the internet much.

On the 25th, Ichiro spent more of his 1.5-hour practice working on his hitting.
