...Kenta Maeda gave the game-winning ball to Kenjiro Nomura after the game.  But later on, before boarding the team bus, Nomura returned to ball to Maeda, saying that it really belonged to him.

Maeda topped out at 148km/h on opening day and held the Chunichi Dragons to just 1 run over 8 innings of work.  His final line: 8 IP, 28 BF, 95 NP, 4 H, 5 SO, 0 BB, 1 R, 1 ER.
