More Yu Darvish chatter…

This isn't all that newsworthy, but I thought I'd still tack it on here.

Sponichi is carrying a playful article that mentions Darvish's son learning how to say his ABCs.  The headline of the article is even more interesting:

Can it be?  Darvish's eldest son ready for a move to the Majors?

These kinds of articles will probably only increase over time.

Yankees' scout Shoichi Kida was at the game watching Yu Darvish's start on Saturday.

Sponichi offers this quote from Kida:

"I don't know how he feels [about pitching in the Majors] but I think he would be fine even with a change of environment. ... It's all up to the GM at this point.  But Darvish is one pitcher that I'm supposed to file a report on with the GM."

The same article estimates that it could take more than the roughly 6B yen ($51.1M) the Boston Red Sox paid in order to negotiate with Daisuke Matsuzaka.

And it seems that when Darvish first joined the Nippon Ham Fighters, he also informed the club that he wanted to keep his options open with regards to posting a few years prior to earning his FA option.
