...From Sunday's game against the Orix Buffaloes:
...Nobuhiko Matsunaka hit his first home of the year in the 5th of Hiroshi Kisanuki. He also appeared in his 1,500th game of his career (good for 168th on the All-Time list).
Matsunaka's final line: 1-for-3, HR, R, RBI -> DP, HR, SO.
...Other than Matsunaka's home run, the Hawks only managed two other hits, both of which were hit by Yuichi Honda.
...From Saturday's game against the Orix Buffaloes:
...Brian Falkenborg apparently threw two semi-retaliation pitches at Greg LaRocca in the 8th inning (he threw two fastball down and in, close to the knees). LaRocca ended up walking and as he walked over to first, it seems Falkenborg said a few things that caused the benches empty.
...Yoshiaki Fujioka joined the Ichi-gun team on Sunday after he started a Ni-gun game against Chunichi on Saturday and gave up 5 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits over 5 innings of work.
...Munenori Kawasaki reached 1,000 hits in his 862nd game, making him the quickest to reach the milestone in franchise history.
...Kenta Imamiya started at short and batted second against Ni-gun Chunichi on Saturday. He hit a double in his first at bat and then hit his "first" pro home run in his second at bat in the 4th off Shinji Iwata.
...Tsuyoshi Wada took Keiji Obiki grounder in the third off his right shin during his start against the Orix Buffaloes on the 26th. He was apparently ok, but as a precaution, he avoided workouts that placed strain on his left shin on Saturday.
