...Masahiro Araki told reporters on Monday that he's making very good progress but still isn't sure when he'll be ready to play. Araki has not tried running at full speed yet, but plans to ramp up his workouts in the coming days.
...I forgot to mention that the 7 straight opening series wins as being under Hiromitsu Ochiai. That's significant because there's no other manager in franchise history that has that many opening series wins.
...The Dragons announced on Monday that they will be holding a Konkatsu event for fan club members during a game against the Orix Buffaloes on 5/16.

...From Sunday's game against the Hiroshima Carp:
...Dionys Cesar taketh and giveth away - with the bases loaded and 1 out and the game tied at 3 in the top of the 5th, Cesar committed a fielding error on a grounder that should have been good for at least one out. Then in the bottom of the 10th, with a runner on second and 1 out, Cesar poked a single into left for a walk-off win.
Cesar later told reporters that he never played on artificial turf before. He also added that he didn't want that to become an excuse and would work hard to get a better handle of it.
...Junki Ito wanted to keep pitching, but was taken out after 4 innings when his turn in the line-up came up in the bottom of the inning (he had just given up a 2-run home run to Kenta Kurihara). Seems he wasn't quite on his game from the very start, evening struggling a bit during his pre-game warm-ups in the bullpen.
...The Dragons won the series, 2-1. By doing so, they also won their 7th consecutive series to start the year (collectively, they are now 17-3-1).
