...Takeshi Komatsu worked out with the Ichi-gun roster on Monday at Mazda Stadium.  Komatsu struggled during exhibition play and failed to make the Ichi-gun roster.  He has, however, starting showing some improvement, tossing 6 shutout innings against Ni-gun Orix on the 28th.

...From Sunday's game against the Chunichi Dragons:

...Tomonori Maeda stood in the batter's box for the first time since 10/6/2008 (he has been struggling with some injuries).  He hit a sac fly to put the Carp in front, 7-6,  in the top of the 9th.

...Hitoki Iwase was on the mound when Maeda hit the sac fly.  The last time Iwase actually allowed a run to the Carp was back on 4/24/2007 (a period of 23 games).

...Katsuhiro Nagakawa gave up the walk-off hit to Dionys Cesar in the bottom of the 10th.

Nagakawa's final line: 1.1 IP, 10 BF, 40 NP, 3 H, 1 SO, 2 BB, 2 R, 1 ER

...Hiroshima has posted more information about their home opener ceremony on Tuesday.

...The Carp announced they will be selling two items made by people with disabilities: homemade Carp cookies (350 yen) and Carp wood puzzles (3,500 yen).  The two items will only be available for sale at Mazda Stadium during the home opener on Tuesday and stock is limited.
