...From Tuesday's game against the Orix Buffaloes:
...As scheduled, long distance runner (famous for his run during the Eki-den) Ryuji Kashiwabara threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
...The Fighters lost, 8-4.
...Keisaku Itokazu was largely ineffective, giving up 7 runs over 7 innings of work. He did have three 1-2-3 innings.
...The 3, 4, 5 batters went 1-for-11 with 1 BB and 1 SO.
...Sho Nakata went 2-for-4 with a strike out and a run scored.
Itokazu's final line: 7 IP, 31 BF, 116 NP, 6 H, 2 SO, 3 BB, 2 HBP, 7 R, 7 ER.
...Sho Nakata is currently breaking in a new glove during practice. It's apparently based off Atsunori Inaba's glove and the stitching near the base of the glove in the palm area runs up and down instead of side to side. It's kind of hard to explain, but it seems, at least according to Inaba, the the up and down stitching helps keep the ball from popping out of the glove because it creates a deeper pocket.
...The Fighters' Foundation Night will be taking place during a three game series against the Rakuten Eagles (4/6 - 4/8). The Fighters will be wearing caps with the Fighters Foundation logo on the side. They will also be giving away Fighters Foundation badges to anyone that donates 300 yen or more to the foundation. An installation of panels that explains what the Fighters Foundation is working towards will also be on display at the dome.
...The Fighters will be giving away felt coasters (to the first 10,000 fans per game) during their 2010 Family Series games (4/27 - 5/1). Each game will feature a different design.
