...From Wednesday's game against the Orix Buffaloes:

...Nanao threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

...The Fighters lost the game, 3-2.

...The Fighters tried Brian Wolfe out as closer for the first time and it didn't work out quite as well as they probably would have like for it to work out -- he entered the game in the top of the 9th with the score, 1-0.  He promptly gave up singles to the first two batter he faced and then served up a long ball to Takahiro Okada.

Wolfe's final line: 1 IP, 6 BF, 17 NP, 3 H, 0 SO, 0 BB, 3 R, 3 ER.

...From Tuesday's game against the Orix Buffaloes:

...Keisaku Itokazu had a rough night on Tuesday, giving up 7 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings of work.

Itokazu's final line: 7 IP, 31 BF, 116 NP, 6 H, 2 SO, 3 BB, 2 HBP, 7 R, 7 ER.

He was demoted on Wednesday when the Fighters promoted Buddy Carlyle.

...Sho Nakata was back in the starting line-up after being held out of the line-up on the 27th and 28th.  Nakata went 2-for-4 (his first pro multi-hit game) with a run scored: single, strikeout, single, ground out to second.

Nakata also picked up his first assist in the 8th when he threw out Takeshi Hidaka at home plate.

...Takayuki Takaguchi hit his first home run of his career in the 7th inning off Mamoru Kishida.

...The Fighters announced that they are renewing their Fighters' Room promotion with the Noguchi Kanko Hotel chain in Hokkaido.
