...Akinobu Okada won his 400th career game as a manager on Wednesday against the Nippon Ham Fighters, thanks in part to Takahiro Okada's 3-run bomb in the top of the 9th.

...Seems the TV for the video replay system was upgraded on Tuesday.

=== 11:38pm JST

...From Wednesday's game against the Nippon Ham Fighters:

...The Buffaloes beat the Fighters, 3-2.

...Takahiro Okada 3-run homer in the top of the 9th accounted for all the Buffaloes' runs.  It was also his second home run in as many games.  Okada finished the night 1-for-4: ground out to second, fly out to left, strikeout, 3-run homer.

...Freddie Bynum entered the game as a pinch-runner (for Alex Cabrera) in the 9th and scored his first official NPB run.

...Shogo Yamamoto retired the side in order in four of the eight innings he pitched.

Yamamoto's final line: 8 IP, 30 BF, 134 NP, 6 H, 4 SO, 1 BB, 1 R, 1 ER.

...It was "No Overtime Day" for Orix employees working at the Tokyo offices on Wednesday.  Unless of course you call attending a game part of your work day -- about 3,500 employees attended the game and filled in the area along the third base line at Tokyo Dome.

...The Buffaloes announced / introduced the start of their Itemae series of food menu items.

Incidentally, itemae (いてまえ) means just do it all, or include it all.

...Thank You Gaia Day will be on 4/23 (vs Seibu Lions).  Seems like the Buffaloes are offering up a chance for one lucky fan to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Thank You Gaia Day.  All you need to do is answer one quiz question and submit it  to the Buffaloes sometime between 4/1 and 4/9.
