by on Mar.31, 2010 @ 11:05 pm, under NPB

...From Wednesday's game against the Chiba Lotte Marines:

...The Eagles brought out their boom sticks and beat the Marines, 13-4.

...Of the 19 hits they collected in the game, 6 were doubles and 2 were home runs.

...Yosuke Takasu had a night to remember: 5-for-6, 3 R, 2 RBI -> double, double, home run, single, single, ground out to short.

...Teppei also had a productive night: 4-for-6, R, 3 RBI -> strikeout, double, double, single, single, fly out to third.

...And perhaps Todd Linden is breaking out of his slumber?  2-for-3, 3 R, 2 RBI -> HBP, 1B, HR, BB, strikeout.

...And through it all, Takeshi Yamasaki somehow managed to go 0-for-6: foul out to first, strikeout, ground out to third, strikeout, ground out to second, strikeout.  As did Daisuke Kusano: 0-for-4 -> fly out to right, fly out  to left, fly out to right, ground out to pitcher.

Other than Yamasaki and Kusano and Naoto Watanabe (0-for-5, R, RBI), every player in the line-up that had an at bat had at least 1 hit and 1 run.

...Koji Aoyama started the game but threw only 2 pitches before being removed from the game due to pain in his left flank.  The club will take a wait-and-see approach with Aoyama before making any decisions on him.

...Filling in for Aoyama was Kohei Hasebe.  And if not for the offensive explosion, this game may have ended in the loss column.

Hasebe's final line: 5 IP, 20 BF, 79 NP, 6 H, 3 SO, BB, 4 R, 4 ER.

...Juan Morillo was a little shaky, but still managed to toss a scoreless 9th.

Morillo's final line: 1 IP, 5 BF, 19 NP, 1 H, 2 SO, 1 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.

...The Eagles have posted information about events and fan giveaways they will be holding during their three game series against the Softbank Hawks (4/2 - 4/4).
