...Shota Oba tossed a rain-shortened, 6-inning no hitter against Ni-gun Hiroshima on Wednesday.

...From Tuesday's game against the Seibu Lions:

...Nobuhiko Matsunaka batted clean-up spot for the first time this year and went 0-for-2: walk, strikeout, walk, fly out to center.

...Nobuhiro Matsuda was the lone player in the line-up with an RBI.  He finished the night, 1-for-4 with 2 RBI: strikeout, fly out to right, double to left, strikeout.

...All two of the Hawks' hits came in the 7th inning -- Yuya Hasegawa was the one that initially broke up Takayuki Kishi's bid for a no-hitter.

...Dennis Houlton allowed at least one runner to reach in each of the 6 innings he pitched (hits in each inning except the 4th, when he issued a walk).  The Lions also stole 3 bases with him on the mound.

Houlton's final line: 6 IP, 26 BF, 120 NP, 6 H, 3 SO, 2 BB, 3 R, 2 ER.

...Tadashi Settsu has already pitched in 5 of the Hawks' 7 games so far this year.
