Shingo Takatsu: 1st pitcher to record saves in NPB. MLB, KBO, and CPBL

Shingo Takatsu became the first pitcher to record saves in the NPB (286), MLB (27), KBO (8), and the CPBL (1) when he saved a game against the Brother Elephants on the 31st.

Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first against the Milwaukee Brewers on the 31st.  He went 1-for-3 with an RBI: fly out to right,  ground out to pitcher, RBI single to right.  Fukudome was taken out of the game in the 5th on defense.

Hisanori Takahashi tossed a scoreless inning in relief against the Florida Marlins on the 31st.  He entered the game in the 8th as the 5th pitcher of the game.  Takahashi walked one and struck out one and did not give up a hit.

Akinori Iwamura started at second and batted first against the Detroit Tigers on the 31st.  He went 2-for-5: fly out to center, fly out to left, single to left, single to left, ground out to second.  Iwamura was taken out of the game on defense in the 8th.

Kazuo Matsui started at second and batted second against the Atlanta Braves on the 31st.  He went 2-for-4: ground out to second, strikeout, infield single, single to left.  Matsui was removed from the game in the 6th on defense.

Koji Uehara is scheduled for an MRI to make sure there's nothing else wrong with him.

Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the 31st.  He went 1-for-4: ground out to first, ground out to pitcher, fly out to center, infield single.  He was lifted for a pinch-runner in the 7th.

Ichiro also showed off his arm in the 2nd when he threw out a runner trying to score from second.

Hideki Okajima started and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits over an inning of work in a minor league exhibition game on the 31st.  He will likely get to pitch in one more exhibition game before the start of the regular season.

Daisuke Matsuzaka tossed 70 pitches to a squatting catcher on the 31st.  Matsuzaka told reporters that he felt great throwing the ball, better than at any other time during the Spring.

It seems surgery could be an option for Junichi Tazawa.
