Hiroki Kuroda, Ichiro Suzuki, Hideki Matsui

Hideki Okajima pitched in a game against the Washington Nationals on the 2nd.  He entered the game in the 7th inning and tossed 0.2 shutout innings while allowing one hit (a lead-off double).

Akinori Iwamura started at second and batted lead-off against the Philadelphia Phillies on the 2nd.  He went 0-for-4: strikeout, strikeout, fly out to left, ground out to second.  Iwamura was removed from the game in the 7th on defense.

Takashi Saito pitched in a game against the Chicago White Sox on the 2nd.  He entered the game in the 8th inning and tossed 1 shutout inning while giving up 2 hits and striking out 2.

Hiroki Kuroda is expected to throw about 40-60 pitches during his outing on the 3rd against the Angels (he'll be the first pitcher used out of the pen).

Kuroda also apparently asked reporters how Takuya Kimura was doing.  The two were not only teammates in Hiroshima (1997-2005), but also at the 2004 Athens Olympics.

Kazuo Matsui entered a game against the Toronto Blues on the 2nd in the 7th inning on defense.  He grounded out to short in his only at bat of the game.

Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted lead-off against the Colorado Rockies on the 2nd.  He went 1-for-3.  Ichiro was taken out of the game in the 4th on defense.

Regarding Don Wakamatsu, Ichiro told reporters that he liked his style and that he found it easy to work with him.

Kosuke Fukudome entered the game in the 8th as a pinch hitter against the Arizona Diamondbacks on the 2nd and hit a home run. He took the field after that and finished the game, 1-for-2.

Hideki Matsui started in left and batted fourth against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the 2nd.  He went 1-for-3: strikeout, single to center, ground out to first.  Matsui did not have any chances in left and was taken out of the game in the 7th.
